Pilates with Carol

Pilates is not a luxury, it is a necessity

Welcome in!

I have been a site-location research analyst for 35 years. At the age of 47 in 2008 I started taking Pilates classes and fell in love with it. Joseph Pilates’ mindset of strength starts with the core muscles spoke to me.  I wanted to train others to strengthen their body so they could live a physically healthy life to either continue or start to do the things they wanted to do. I started my training in 2010 from Balanced Body University and the rest is history.  I also believe exercise should be fun, and I hope that is what each of my client’s experience.  I want them to walk out of my classes feeling better than when they walked in.

Pilates and its Benefits

Mind-body. Core Strength. Core Stability

Pilates is an innovative and safe system of mind-body exercise using a floor mat and/or a variety of equipment. It evolved from the principles of Joseph Pilates and can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, capable of creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen.

It is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.

Benefits

Pilates is a form of strength and flexibility training that can be done by someone at any level of fitness. The exercises can also be adapted for people who have limited movement. Pilates promotes a feeling of physical and mental well-being and also develops inner physical awareness. Since this method strengthens and lengthens the muscles without creating bulk, it is particularly beneficial for dancers and actors.

Pilates is helpful in preventing and rehabilitating from injuries, improving posture, and increasing flexibility, circulation, and balance. Pregnant women who do these exercises can develop body alignment, improve concentration, and develop body shape and tone after pregnancy. According to Joseph Pilates, “You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 sessions and have a completely new body in 30 sessions.”

Testimonials from real people

“I began doing Pilates over five years ago.  As a chiropractor it has helped me personally keep my body strong so that I can help others.  It has also helped professionally as a tool to help patients overcome weaknesses and injury.  Carol does an awesome job in both of these areas.  Her passion for helping others is over the top and her enthusiasm is contagious.  Carol has developed a great knowledge of anatomy and has a keen eye for recognizing peoples strengths and weaknesses.  This allows for optimal core strengthening and healing. She can break down the most complex exercises into ones that anyone can do and you will have fun doing it. I will forever continue to do Pilates with Carol as long as she will teach it!”

Nichole Harvey, 34 –  Chiropractor

“I suffered from chronic back pain for several years and tried numerous treatment options with limited relief. About a year ago, my chiropractic referred me to Carol to help strengthen my core and pelvic floor. Within a few sessions I noticed a dramatic change. I felt stronger and noticed that my normal low back pain had lessened.  After a few months of working with Carol, my husband and I were blessed with the news that we were pregnant. I was very nervous about the impact the pregnancy weight would have on my back. I did Pilates with Carol throughout my pregnancy and had very few problems. I also credit her for the quick rebound my body has made after giving birth. Carol is an amazing instructor. I have always told her that I would continue with Pilates as long as I learned something new each class…and I’m still going.”

Lauren Oe

“I have been interested in Pilates for quite a while and when the opportunity to work with Carol arose, I jumped at the chance. Private weekly sessions were exactly what I wanted. Little did I know how amazing those sessions would be and how my slow full recovery from knee replacement and an accidental fall was about to change. Carol’s depth of knowledge about Pilates and keen ability to tailor the workouts for my own level of strength have been a blessing. Week by week I have experienced increased range of motion and body strength and agility. I truly believe Pilates is an incredible experience and can benefit anyone seeking a more integrated core  body strength and awareness. Carol’s skillful eye and instruction, plus her intuitive sense of how to demonstrate and teach Pilates, are wonderful. I am happy to share what Carol and Pilates have brought into my life and highly recommend her.”
